Here are some newly-elected diverse candidates from the 2022 US midterms:
- Robert Garcia (D-CA): The first out LGBTQ immigrant elected to Congress
- Erick Russell (D-CT): First openly-gay Black person elected as Connecticut state treasurer
- Delia Ramirez (D-IL): First Latina elected to House of Representatives from Illinois
- Andrea Campbell (D-MA): First black woman elected as Massachusetts' attorney general
- Jason Hoskins (D-MI): The first LGBTQ person of color elected to state legislature
- John James (R-MI): The first Black Republican elected to Congress from Michigan
- Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) The first Native American senator from Oklahoma in almost a century
- Salman Bhojani and Suleman Lalani (D-TX): The first two Muslims elected to Texas state legislature
